Meet Our Attorney

Get to know Attorney David H. Jacoby

David H. Jacoby Elder Law Advocate, P.A. is a law practice dedicated to serving the legal needs of the elderly in Brevard County, Florida. The firm was founded by David H. Jacoby over 25 years ago and our focus remains in providing quality legal services to our clients in a wide range of practice areas and is located in Melbourne, Florida. Our attorneys have vision and experience, assisting a large and varied clientele.

Year Established: 1990

David H. Jacoby received his Bachelor of Science in Finance in 1986 from Florida State University. He then attended Stetson University College of Law where he received a Juris Doctorate degree in 1989.  In February of 1990, he established his law office in Brevard County, Florida.

Presently, David H. Jacoby is a member of and on the Board of Directors for The Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys. He is a member of The National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Brevard County Bar Association, the Florida Bar Association, the Florida State Guardianship Association, and the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar. He currently sits on The Unauthorized Practice of Law (UPL) Committee of the Elder Law Section of The Florida Bar.

David Jacoby served on the Board of Directors for several years at HealthSouth Sea Pines Rehabilitation Hospital; served on the Board of Directors for Carriage Gate Homeowners Association; served as an  Adjunct Instructor at Barry University instructing Business Law I and II; and served on the Board of Directors of the Brevard County Jewish Community School. Mr. Jacoby is married to his wife, Erin, and has 4 children and 6 grandchildren.

Alexia Collen

Legal Assistant

Alexia is a Medicaid Assistant that handles new Medicaid cases. She has a background in Dispute Resolution and Customer Care. Originally from Saratoga Springs New York, Alexia moved to Brevard County in late 1993. She enjoys doing mixed media art, music and is an avid gardener. She has one Son, Liam, who is the center of her world.

Margot Cronk

Margot is a Medicaid Assistant who works with our Medicaid planning clients. She works one-on-one with clients to assist them in obtaining Medicaid benefits for their loved ones needing Long-Term or Home and Community Based Care Services. Margot has five years of experience as a Medicaid Assistant.  She has a background in both banking and the medical field.  She enjoys reading and any activity on or by the water. She has three children and one grandchild whom she adores.

Niki Taylor, A.S., B.A.S., M.A.

Senior Paralegal

Niki is one of the paralegals that handle the Probates, Guardianships, and Trust Administrations for the office. She has 8 years experience working as a paralegal in various different types of law. She has an AS degree in Paralegal Studies, a BAS degree in Criminal Justice and a MA in History. She has 3 children Lauren, Peyton, and Leighton. In her free time, she likes to travel and go to Disney with her children.

Karen Clark

Medicaid Assistant

Karen is a Medicaid Assistant that handles new Medicaid cases.  She joined the practice in 2011 as a Medicaid Assistant. A native Floridian who likes to travel, she is also passionate about pet rescue, volunteering her time to work with organizations that help animals.  She has two daughters, Jesse and Kay.
